The Amberlink is a hybrid, but not a sex link. They are a cross between a Rhode Island White Rooster and a Rhode Island Red Hen. Amberlinks produce 300 brown eggs per year.
The Barnevelder is a Dutch breed of domestic chicken. It resulted from cross-breeding between local Dutch chickens and various "Shanghai" birds imported from Asia to Europe in the later part of the nineteenth century. The hens are good layers of large brown eggs and, unlike some other breeds, continue to lay well during winter.
Cuckoo maran chickens are a good dual purpose breed. This means that they are raised for both the chocolate eggs they lay and meat.
The Noir Marans are a very good layer of rich dark brown eggs ranging from copper to chocolate in color. These hens are largely black with varying amounts of bronze. The roosters are cuckoo. This breed produces a combination of both clean and feather legged chicks. The Noir Marans allows you to incorporate darker eggs into your basket without breaking the bank.
An Olive Egger chicken is a popular hybrid breed. They’re beloved for their unique green eggs, which are often olive, hence the breed name.
The Sussex is a British breed of dual-purpose chicken, reared both for its meat and for its eggs. Hens lay some 180–200 tinted eggs per year; some layer strains may give up to 250. The eggs weigh about 60g. The Sussex is also reared for showing.
The Barred Rock is easy to manage, is early-feathering, has good resistance to cold and is a good sitter. They are a dual-purpose breed and are kept both for their meat and for their large brown eggs, of which they lay about 200 per year. The eggs weigh about 55g (2 oz).
The Australorp is a chicken breed of Australian origin, developed as a utility breed with a focus on egg laying and is famous for laying more than 300 eggs per year. It achieved world-wide popularity in the 1920s after the breed broke numerous world records for number of eggs laid and has been a popular breed in the western world since.
The Leghorn is a breed of chicken originating in Tuscany, in central Italy. Leghorns are good layers of white eggs, laying an average of 280 per year and sometimes reaching 300–320, with a weight of at least 55 g.
These modern chickens result from crossing the Rhode Island cockerel and the Rhode Island hen. They are a modern red sex-linked hybrid chicken that can lay up to 300 large brown eggs in a year.
Golden Comet is a cross bred and sex linked chicken gotten from the crossbreeding of a female White Rock or Rhode Island White and a male New Hampshire Red chicken. They can lay up to 6 eggs per week on average, that is 330 eggs on average, per year.
The Rhode Island Red is an American breed of domestic chicken. It is the state bird of Rhode Island. It was developed there and in Massachusetts in the late nineteenth century, by cross-breeding birds of Oriental origin such as the Malay with brown Leghorn birds from Italy. The traditional dual-purpose "old-type" Rhode Island Red lays 200–300 brown eggs per year, and yields rich-flavored meat.
White Leghorn is "The businessman's bird-all around profit makers." White Leghorn chicks are bred for livability, performance, high production, superior shell strength, egg size and feed efficiency. They are truly an outstanding bird.
The Bronze is a breed of domestic turkey. The name refers to its plumage, which bears an iridescent bronze-like sheen. It is prized for its meat production, and although it is not as popular as the Broad Breasted White Turkey, many consumers look specifically for this breed for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
The Broad Breasted White is commercially the most widely used breed of domesticated turkey. Males can grow to between 30 - 40lbs while females can reach sizes of 14 - 20lbs.
The Americana is a breed of domestic chicken from Chile. It lays blue-shelled eggs, one of very few breeds that do so. The Americana has a pea comb and lays approximately 250 blue or green eggs per year.
The Jersey Giant is an American breed of domestic chicken. It was created in Burlington County, New Jersey, in the late nineteenth century. As the name suggests, it is a large breed, and is among the heaviest of all chicken breeds. The Jersey Giant is a calm and docile breed. The cocks are rarely aggressive. The hens lay very large brown eggs, and are fair layers overall, known particularly as good winter layers.
The Orpington is a British breed of chicken. Orpingtons lay about 175 to 200 medium to large light-brown eggs a year. The Buff Orpington will grow to have a golden-orange color.
Wyandotte’s are good layers of light to dark brown eggs averaging about 200 eggs/year. Of course, other colors came along later, but the Silver Laced Wyandotte was the first and arguably the prettiest of the Wyandotte breed.
Deep mahogany red feathers are laced with a slick blue. Good layer of medium cream eggs. Lays around 200 eggs per year.

Though still relatively rare in the United States, Black Copper Marans are loved for their dark, russet brown eggs and attractive plumage. It’s a beautiful bird that lays extraordinary, dark, chocolate-colored eggs.
Like other Marans, the golden lays a dark brown egg. Featuring golden bars along with a white head and back. Lays about 260 eggs per year.
Splash Laced Red Wyandottes are reliable layers, producing approximately 200 medium to large brown eggs each year. While they may slow down or pause during winter, adding extra light can encourage year-round laying. These dual-purpose birds are valued for their meat and egg production. They typically cease laying only during the annual molt in late summer or early fall.
